Principal Finds Student Sessions “Eye-Opening”

The student component of the CirclePoint Bullying Prevention Program is being rolled out at the Warren Prescott K–8 School in Boston. In this step, each classroom teacher leads a discussion on bullying and the changes to school policy that the program will deliver. The discussion covers what bullying is, what students can do on their own or with adult help, the challenges that trying to resolve a bullying problem presents, and how the program addresses those challenges. “These sessions have really been eye-opening,” said Principal Michele Davis, who has been attending the student sessions. “The student concerns about adult intervention in bullying problems are consistent no matter the grade level, and really serve as a barrier to bullying problem resolution. It is great to be able to allay each and every one of their concerns with the changes that the program is delivering.”
